Booking
How do lesson credits work?
When you buy a lesson or a package, your account receives credits. Booking a lesson uses one credit. Credits from packages have a validity period, always shown before you pay.
What timezone are the times shown in?
Always your own. Set your timezone once in your profile and every time on the site is converted automatically. Daylight saving included.
Cancellation
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes: from your dashboard. Cancel outside the cancellation window (normally 24 hours before the lesson) and your credit is returned automatically.
Japanese Levels
Do you prepare students for the JLPT?
Yes, from N5 upwards. Tell Maria your target level and exam date, and lessons plus homework are planned backwards from it.
Lessons
Where do lessons happen?
Online, on Zoom or Google Meet. You'll find the meeting link in your dashboard next to each booked lesson.
I'm a complete beginner. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Many students start from zero. Lessons are built around your level, and beginner lessons move at a comfortable, encouraging pace.
What happens after each lesson?
Maria adds notes to your dashboard: what you learned, new vocabulary, and homework if you want it. You can review everything any time.
Payments
How do I pay?
By card, through Stripe's secure checkout. Your card details never touch our servers.
Technical
What do I need for a lesson?
A quiet spot, headphones and a stable internet connection. A webcam helps but isn't essential.
